In our continuing theme of "Unleashing Potential," our
speaker this month, Ted Gorski, President and Chief Effectiveness
Officer at Get Your Edge in Hollis, NH, presented us with success
stories and tips for "getting the most out of people."
During this dynamic group interaction, we explored:
-
The struggle between management and employees
- current climate vs. employee reality
-
What is motivation and how it works
-
Five secrets on motivating individuals
-
Discovering the various communication styles
and leveraging them for effectiveness
We learned that to drive performance, we need to provide (1) Motivation,
(2) Ability, and (3) Opportunity - or, MAO for short. Five ways
to improve employee performance are (1) Strengths, (2) Needs, (3)
Feedback, (4) Dealing with Failures and Successes, and (5) Self-Awareness.
ADAPT members present were offered a free on-line evaluation by
providing their business cards to Ted. Thanks, Ted!
